Welding Tech (2nd Shift)

To layout, assemble, weld and finish all types of materials and thicknesses as needed to comply with the engineering designs and provide the customer with a quality product.


  • Consistently practice safe work habits and abide by all safety policies and guidelines
  • Evaluate material (Alum, SS and Steel), thickness and weld joint type; and then set up the welding machine to optimize quality of the weld
  • Layout, position, align and secure parts prior to welding.  Using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers ensure assemblies are welded in compliance with the engineering drawings
  • Use the proper welding techniques and positions to weld the assembly
  • Use various tools (disc grinder, drum sander, scotchbrite pad, etc.) to smooth-out, blend, polish and clean welded parts as required
  • Perform and document all quality inspections and testing as required
  • Pack material and prepare products for delivery to the next customer as required
  • Maintain housekeeping, safety & user maintenance of all equipment as required
  • Accurately record time and material data as required for production reporting
  • Train lesser experienced employees in the area


  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent (Associate Degree in Welding is a plus)
  • 3-5 years of experience in working with TIG / MIG welding
  • Thorough knowledge of how to properly blend and polish welds
  • Must be self motivated with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team and actively contribute to the success of the team
  • Good communication and organization skills with a positive attitude
