Looking to do a little cleaning? Harnett Co. Solid Waste Department will host a FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection & Paper Shredding Event for Harnett County residents on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Harnett County Courthouse. 

ACCEPTED ITEMS:
 Paint and paint thinners, furniture strippers & finishing products, solvents & degreasers, wood preservatives, polishes, aerosols, fluorescent light tubes, compact fluorescent bulbs, NiCad batteries, alkaline batteries, lithium batteries, propane cylinders, swimming pool chemicals, used motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, hydraulic transmission & brake fluid.

EVENT REMINDERS • Limit of (8) Boxes/Bags for paper shredding, boxes/bags will need to be taken back with you • Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides & insecticides WILL BE accepted but MUST be in its original containers for identification purposes. • All liquids MUST be left in a container at the event.
